Finn Jones has come out to speak on the cancellation of Iron Fist by Netflix.
Yesterday, Netflix announced that they weren’t renewing another season of the fourth defender after only two seasons on the streaming network during which Finn played the hero, Danny Rand, a billionaire who wielded the immortal Iron Fist after claiming it from Shao Lao.
Iron Fist was the fourth Marvel hero to debut on Netflix, but Danny didn’t share the same success as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, or Luke Cage. His first outing was poorly received by critics and proved divisive among fans as well. Although season 2 wasn’t perfect, a change in showrunner completely reshaped the result. The switch from Scott Buck to M. Raven Metzner effectively changed the worst Marvel show on Netflix into one of its best. But it wasn’t enough to keep the show on the air.
Finn Jones took to Instagram to respond to the series cancellation. The actor stated:
“With every end is a new beginning. I have an enormous amount of love and respect for everyone involved with the last two seasons of this show. Defending the greatest city in the world amongst the most talented and warmest people has been a privilege and a joy. Blessed to have taken this journey and grateful for the ongoing support.”
