Happy birthday to unarguably one of the biggest movie stars in Africa. Genevieve Nnaji started her acting at age 18 and with over 100 movies to her name, she is among the most-awarded and highest-paid Nollywood stars in the industry.
She was dubbed by Oprah as the Julia Roberts of Africa and CNN named her the Angelina Jolie of Africa for her numerous contributions which helped further put Nollywood on the map thanks to her instrumental role in the industry. Her directorial debut movie, Lionheart, also became the first Netflix Original African movie and made her the highest-earning Nollywood actress with Netflix allegedly buying the movie for $3 million (N1.9 billion).
Genevieve has steered clear off scandals and other ills that plague famous celebrities and is a role model to many ladies in the country and the world.
