Opinion: Is Torture the Price of Fame and is it Worth it?

There’s a hidden yet humongous price for popularity that only a few would care to admit. Fame is extraordinarily overrated, just as privacy is exceedingly underrated. Believe it or not, celebrities aren’t always as happy as they look or as honest as they sound because behind striking poses, sexy smirks and tight grins, there’s an opposing scenario that occurs inside the minds of these individuals

If you had the ability to get into the heads of celebrities, you’d probably hear things like “Damn, this dress is so tight and uncomfortable”, “why is this event taking so long?”, ”Why is he looking at me like that, am I smiling weirdly?”, “I just want to go home”

It’s like you no longer possess your own skin because your actions are completely entwined with the fear of how the internet would interpret it. Fake love everywhere because they don’t realize that they don’t love you as a person but are totally interested in how you look in that dress, not minding or considering the fact that you have to starve your way to a perfect figure.

You become completely insecure as you struggle to commit to a relationship because you’re never fully sure of your partner’s true intentions. These people may seem relaxed but their entire being is a maze of unending horrific calculations on how to attain impossible perfection.

Waking up to internet trolls as the urge to feel completely numb follows alongside unhealthy solutions such as drugs and alcohol. Furthermore, there’s the fear of not being able to respond violently when you feel you’re being attacked or harassed by photographers

They’re trapped in a loop of uncertainty about simply stepping out for fresh air or just hiding indoors till the world makes sense. In a world where rumours or malicious gossips about most celebrities are perceived as “exciting” rather than their actual success and people still wonder why depression remains the order of the day.

The road to fame may seem tricky and inviting at the same time but once you get there, you become deserted for life without any escape route.
