Slated for 2020, the Green Lantern Corps movie has given us little to no information so far, save for David S. Goyer getting hired as the writer. With no official cast yet, fans already believed the lantern-powered superhero wouldn’t make it in time for Justice League. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case as we will get to see a Green Lantern in the movie scheduled for November.
According to reporter Umberto Gonzalez, there will be a Green Lantern sighting in 2017’s Justice League. On a recent periscope video, he was asked about the Lanterns, where he said “Yes. There is a Green Lantern in Justice League. I forgot how to pronounce him. I forgot the name of the Green Lantern in Justice League, so we’ll see. Hey, maybe by that time they get to cast Hal Jordan and next we’ll throw him in there too who knows.”
A few fans threw out possible names, to which he responded “Kilowog. No, it’s not Kilowog. It’s a funny sounding, I’ll give you a hint it’s a funny sounding name. I’m like okay, better not cast Tyrese. It is confirmed that Green Lantern, a Green Lantern will be in Justice League. I don’t want to give you the spoiler obviously, but yes, there is a Green Lantern.”

Of all the ‘funny named’ Lanterns, the most rumoured to feature will be Abin Sur – the Lantern who died protecting the sector and passed his ring down to Hal Jordan. And this would go in line with Steppenwolf’s proclamation in the new Justice League trailer when he said there is no “Lantern to protect them”,
The one thing that seems clear for now is; whoever the Green Lantern may be, he will most likely be there to set up 2020’s movie or future DCEU movies, as opposed to being a major character in Justice League.

We wouldn’t have to wait long to find out who and what happens, as the movie is scheduled for release in three months.
Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ciarán Hinds, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Jesse Eisenberg.
