Patrick Stewart Will Only Return as Xavier For This Movie…

With the release of Logan on March 3, fans had already known that the movie will be Hugh Jackman’s last time playing the adamantium-clawed menace in the hugely successful X-Men franchise and the stand-alone Wolverine movie franchise as well.
However, prior to the release of Logan, Patrick Stewart who played Charles Xavier and has always played the older version of Charles in the X-Men, also stated that that would be his last time playing the leader of the X-Men.

Even though Hugh Jackman has signed off his role already, things may have changed for Patrick Stewart as he revealed in a recent interview with MTV that he will be willing to reprise his role as Professor Charles Xavier if he is to act in a Deadpool movie.
Yes, you heard it, Patrick Stewart would want to act with the merc with a mouth.

When asked whether or not this really is his last time as the character, Stewart said:
“I would have said yes, but the discussion just now about Deadpool makes me think, well, maybe there is a proper justification for the revival of Charles Xavier.”

Although fans so badly wanted to see Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine fight either side by side or against each other, watching Deadpool meet Professor X wouldn’t be a bad scene either.
With Deadpool 2 in the works, perhaps Reynolds and co. will find that adding Patrick Stewart to the profane adventures of everyone’s favorite mutant mercenary will be the right sort of way to make the successful solo character an even greater representative of Fox’s ongoing mutant franchise. Given that Stewart said he’d likely be up for it, the team behind the next Deadpool movie would be silly not to take him on it.
