Ever since the teaser in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans have been waiting for the first closeup look for the villain in the upcoming Justice League movie, Steppenwolf. Now one of the designers behind an upcoming Justice League toy has given fans their best look yet at the face of the film’s primary villain, Steppenwolf.
The image comes from an artist who sculpted Steppenwolf’s head for Marvel’s DC Multiverse line.
The villain’s absence in promotional campaigns so far isn’t surprising as it seems to be the norm in the DC Extended Universe since Ares wasn’t shown in any promo campaign for Wonder Woman, and fans only got to see the villain for the first time in the movie. So it won’t be surprising if Steppenwolf – played by Ciaran Hinds – will also be used in the same way Ares was.
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
