11 Blockbuster Movies to Look Forward to in 2020

It’s 2020 and we are here and ready for major doses of what movie studios have to offer us this year, and there are a lot of amazing movies already lined up and scheduled for release.

Here are 11 blockbuster movies to look forward to this year!

Bad Boys For Life

January 17 brings us the much-awaited sequel to Bad Boys which sees Martin Lawrence and Will Smith reprising their roles as the famous cops we love so much.

A Quiet Place II

With the way part 1 ended, we weren’t really expecting a sequel. But we’ve got one and we are down for it. If you loved the first movie, then get ready to enjoy more of the same and even more when the movie releases in March.

The Photograph

Valentine’s Day always brings us a string of love-themed movies and one of the highly anticipated movies of the year is Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield’s The Photograph. We can’t wait to watch their beautiful story unfold in February.

Mulan

Disney picks up from where they left off with their live-action adaptation of their classic animated movies with Mulan. Though the movie has been getting a string of backlashes because of the changes made to cast members, as well as the reports of characters not singing in the movie, we still can’t wait to watch the movie and see how Disney plans to make up for not giving us the heavy dose of nostalgic songs we love so much.

Black widow

Marvel Studios’ first offering of the year is Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. The origin story of the Avenger who sacrificed her life for the fate of the world in Avengers: Endgame. The movie also features Red Guardian as well as a villain rumoured to be Taskmaster. We can’t wait for Black Widow to hit the cinemas this May.

Scooby Doo

Growing up, most of us had Scooby Doo as our favourite cartoon and hearing of a reboot which will feature stars like Zac Efron was like music to our ears. Scooby Doo hits cinemas in June 2020.

Wonder Woman 1984

Wonder Woman‘s second solo adventure will hit screens in June 2020. The Amazon will see her mind and body put to the test in the fight of her life, when she goes toe-to-toe with the mind-controlling Maxwell Lord and the fast-moving apex predator Cheetah.

Fast and Furious 9

Dominic Torreto and his family will ride into the big screen once again with the ninth instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise. The movie will be without Hobbs and Shaw (who now have their own spin-off,) but will feature the rest of the family as they try to save the world from possibly another threat using nothing but their wits, fast cars, and amazing driving skills.

Coming 2 America II

The sequel to the classic movie is hitting cinemas this year and with the stellar lineup of casts, which includes Davido, it’s shaping up to be a movie to look forward to. Definitely having Wesley Snipes as a villain and threat in the movie is already whetting our appetite.

Minions 2

This July, Minions 2 comes to our screens. We love those little yellow guys and we can’t wait to see them back on our screens.

Godzilla Vs. Kong

Two of our favourite titans or kaiju will go head-to-head to find out who deserves the title of ‘King’ and we definitely can’t wait for it. Little is known about the plot of the movie for now, except the fact that we expect a very amazing battle between the two intelligent creatures, and that’s definitely enough for us to look forward to it.
