The Marvel Cinematic Universe will officially kick off in 2017 with the Guardians of the Galaxy on May 5, and we have already seen trailers for GotG and the webhead Spiderman in Spiderman: Homecoming. However, the third movie to be released in the MCU this year had been pretty low on gists, scoops and details… until now. Marvel, earlier today, released the first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok. A trailer dubbed as the best trailer ever in the MCU by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.
In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!
Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi with a screenplay by Eric Pearson. The film stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett (Hela), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Karl Urban (Skurge), Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Sam Neill, Ray Stevenson (Volstagg), Tadanobu Asano (Hogun), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), and Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Stephen Strange).
