Stan Lee Unveils Hulkbuster Suit at Madame Tussauds

The world famous waxwork museum Madame Tussauds has not been shy in its appreciation for Marvel characters, with the company already boasting a Marvel Super Heroes 4D Experience in various locations. The exhibition features Avengers characters such as Captain America and The Hulk as well as popular X-Men like Wolverine and the Fantastic Four‘s Sue Storm. Each waxwork is lovingly crafted by a team of experts who have rendered lifelike works of thousands of public figures over the years.

Looking to add to their popular Marvel collection, Madame Tussauds have turned to the most recent Avengers movie for inspiration – Age of Ultron. One of the most memorable scenes in that movie showed Tony Stark go head-to-head with a Scarlet Witch-possessed Hulk – and in order to match the not-so-jolly green giant’s titanic strength, Iron Man dons a brand new suit or armor: the Hulkbuster suit.
As reported by Newsarama, Marvel fans will now get to see the famous Hulkbuster suit up close at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas as the latest addition to the 4D Experience collection and the new piece was unveiled by none other than comic book god himself, Stan Lee. The figure measures in at twelve feet tall and nine feet wide and took a team of twenty artists around four months to complete. The manager of the company’s Vegas branch, Stephan Degen, spoke about the museum’s new attraction, stating:

“The Hulkbuster is the perfect addition to our attraction and compliments our pre-existing, state-of-the art Marvel Super Heroes 4D Experience. The figure is going to be a huge hit with visitors!”
Meanwhile, Stan Lee expressed his own amazement at the new work, claiming:

“I never could have imagined this in a million years and now that I see it, I think it is beyond fantastic. It could only have been done at Madame Tussauds. I’m so glad there is a Madame Tussauds because this figure is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen.”

Given the amount of crazy things Stan Lee has surely seen in his ninety-four years on our humble planet, being one of the greatest things he’s ever seen is high praise indeed. The Hulkbuster attraction is sure to be a hit with hardcore Marvel fans that have already seen the various figures of all the usual suspects, as well as casual fans who will no doubt be impressed by the piece’s size and attention to detail.

The partnership with Madame Tussauds is one of many relationships Marvel have recently been developing with big name companies in a variety of industries. The comic book giants recently announced that they’d be working on a series of Avengers video games alongside Square Enix – the minds behind the Final Fantasy franchise. These partnerships will likely ensure that the current popularity of Marvel and their Cinematic Universe won’t be fading fade any time soon; and with movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Avengers: Infinity War on the horizon, the phenomenon is only likely to grow.
For all the cross-pollination into other industries and lucrative business partnerships however, it’s imperative that Marvel Studios continue to produce the goods on the big screen. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been critically and commercially successful for a sustained period of time now but if the quality of the movies begins to drop, it’s only a matter of time before interest in the various video games, waxworks and other sidelines will begin to wane also.
