A second trailer for Justice League, which will finally see Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg finally teaming up in the DC Extended Universe, was released during the Comic-Con. Now Warner Bros has debuted the latest trailer for the highly-anticipated blockbuster, which you can watch to your heart’s content above.
The newest preview spends a lot more time showing off the heroes’ talents, from Diana of Themyscira busting up a bank robbery to Arthur Curry to Barry Allen showing off his super speed. With Superman dead and no Lanterns around, the world needs new defenders to look after Earth, and Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg are there to get the job done.
It’s a good thing they’ve banded together, because Apokolips has sent Steppenwolf to Earth with a Parademon army to seize the three Mother Boxes (one of which is powering Cyborg). Speaking of Steppenwolf, we finally get a few glimpses of the DC villain being played by Ciaran Hinds, although unfortunately, none of the shots show his face. However, going off his size and booming voice, he’ll be a formidable opponent in Justice League, just like his comic book counterpart.
However, the trailer’s most intriguing moment comes at the very end, where Batman’s trusty butler/confidante Alfred Pennyworth is listed by an unseen guest. Alfred, who’s having trouble getting used to all the ways the world has changed in recent years, tells this individual that “he said you’d come,” and he hopes this individual’s arrival isn’t too late. Our only clue about this person is that their steps caused Alfred’s drink to ripple. That’s not much of a clue to go off of, but considering that Superman is nowhere to be seen in this trailer, we can’t help wondering if at this point in the movie, the Man of Steel has returned to life, and Alfred hopes he’s in time to aid the other heroes. Only time will tell what exactly is in store for Superman in Justice League, as well as how the other heroes will overcome this global threat.
Justice League arrives in theaters on November 17.
