John Wick: Chapter 2 Blu-Ray & DVD Release Date Revealed

John Wick: Chapter 2 may not have been raking in the same kind of box office numbers as Logan or Beauty and the Beast, but it’s certainly been one of the bigger hits of the year so far. A sequel to 2014’s revenge shoot ’em up John Wick, the movie has been pleasing critics and fans alike, and this success has been sparking speculation about a possible third movie and the launch of a new action franchise. With the film ending the way it did, a third movie is highly likely, and fans are gearing up to see star Keanu Reeves back in action in the near future.

A third movie is, however, still quite far in the future, especially as John Wick: Chapter 2 is still in cinemas at the moment. While fans wait for news of the next installment, they can also look forward to the movie’s release on DVD and Blu-ray, which has now been officially announced. Not only does this mean a chance to re-watch the fantastic film, but will come with plenty of special features to whet the appetite for more John Wick.
Lionsgate Home Entertainment and Summit Entertainment will be releasing the film on Digital HD on May 23rd, with the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray to follow on June 13, reports Comic Book Movie. The Blu-ray can be preordered on Amazon now, and includes a huge range of special features:
Audio Commentary with Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski
    Deleted Scenes
“RetroWick: Exploring the Unexpected Success of John Wick” Featurette
    “Training John Wick” Featurette
    “WICK-vizzed” Featurette
“Friends, Confidantes: The Keanu/Chad Partnership” Featurette
“As Above, So Below: The Underworld of John Wick” Featurette
    “Car Fu Ridealong” Featurette
“Beat Down: The Evolution of a Fight Scene” Featurette
    “Wick’s Toolbox” Featurette
    “Kill Count” Featurette
    “Dog Wick” Short
The cover art for the Blu-Ray was also revealed alongside the special features information. The special features information does not include run-time on the deleted scenes, featurettes or short, but it’s safe to say that this is going to add quite a lot of extra viewing time to the Blu-ray version of the film. Deleted scenes, audio commentary and some featurettes are a common inclusion on the Blu-ray and DVD releases of most major films.
The deleted scenes are sure to be particularly interesting, and as most fans love the dog in the film(s), the “Dog Wick” short is sure to be a popular inclusion in the special features list. The “Training John Wick,” “Beat Down: The Evolution of a Fight Scene” and “Kill Count” are also likely to be big winners, as the movie has received particular praise for the fight scenes and the amount of training that Reeves did for the role.
John Wick: Chapter 2 releases on digital HD May 23, then 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on June 13.
