Ghanaian actress Akuapem Poloo, also known as Alade Brown, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over her controversial birthday photo with her son. According to Legit NG, Akuapem is being sent to the headquarters of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU).
Earlier, Anita Joseph called out the actress for posing in her birthday suit with her son to celebrate his 7th birthday (Instagram post below)
Alade, on the other hand, believes people are taking the photo out of context, saying the photo was “an artistic expression” and wasn’t intended to be about indecent exposure. However, the photo sparked outrage on social media and led to a massive debate as to whether she had done the right thing. She has, however, apologized for the post on her Instagram page.

After the post went viral, it was reported that Child Rights International petitioned the CID to act over the matter since the actress had violated some laws and also breached some Child Acts.
Child Rights International, in its letter, indicated that she had hurt the dignity and privacy of her son. According to the child rights body, the entertainer had violated the Welfare Principle of the Children’s Act.
