#Tearjerker: 5 Movies That Will Make You Cry

Some movies present certain situations that some of us can relate to one way or the other thus making us helpless, numb and on edge for a short period of time and also making room in our minds to wander and ponder why certain things happen and why it feels almost impossible to deal with these occurrences. Here are some movies that are likely to make you cry;

WHAT’S EATING GILBERT GRAPE

Gilbert’s mentally-challenged brother Arnie (Leonardo Dicaprio) comes into his mother’s bedroom and find’s her dead on her bed. As a result of the state of his health, he is trapped in a loop of confusion, disbelief and complete sorrow. Gilbert (Johnny Depp) on the other hand, has to care for his sick brother, obese mother and make room for his love for Becky all at once. He struggles to take control in the absence of his dad and become the man of the house but this weight on his shoulders comes with excess responsibilities given the situation of his mother and brother.

MY NAME IS KHAN

Mandira Khan (Kajol) loses her only son, Sameer (Arjan Aujla) to the rough encounter with bullies at his school and out of misery, Mandira blames her husband Rizwan Khan (Shahrukh Khan) and his religion for the unfortunate death of her son. Rizwan is a devoted Muslim born with Asperger syndrome. He struggles to avoid eye contact with people and tries to avoid the colour yellow. This is a world-class movie with a very deep meaning. The beauty of this movie is the message it conveys; it gives hope for a better world and it proves that clothes, religion, background, colour, etc., doesn’t make a person bad.

NOW IS GOOD

Tessa’s dad walks into her to find her quiet right after she threw a tantrum and he cries and begs her to keep living. Tessa (Dakota Fanning) is a dying girl diagnosed with cancer and she is left with just a few months to live. Her dad is completely miserable, frustrated with the fact that there is no cure and cannot bear the thought of losing his baby girl. Tessa made a list of things to do before she dies and she still wasn’t able to finish it in time before kicking the bucket.

JOKER

Arthur (Joaquin Phoenix) tries to stop laughing in a train but he can’t because of his condition and when a passenger gets offended, he shows his medical report stating his medical condition. Arthur was clinically depressed, broke, looked down on, made fun of, bullied, deceived etc. it’s indeed amazing how insanely miserable one can be and yet still get their clown act together to make people happy. The movie, “Joker” is a masterpiece.

TAARE ZAMEEN PAR

Ishan’s dad is fed up with his poor performance at school and so he sends him off to boarding school. Ishan (Darsheel Safary) wept helplessly begging his mother to intervene but his father’s mind is completely made up. Ishan resumes boarding and still performs poorly until Ram Shankar (Amir Khan) a new art teacher notices him and discovers he suffers from dyslexia. This movie is truly moving and inspirational. Every child is indeed special.
