The teaser trailer for The Punisher is finally here
The intense short clip features Jon Bernthal’s haunted and vengeful anti-hero speaking about the torments of his past as a torrent of guns, explosions, torture and punishments run wild in the trailer, showing us a glimpse of what’s to come when the series airs later this year.
“All the things that I’ve done, memories, they never hurt me,” says The Punisher in the trailer. “But the past, it’s more than memories. It’s the devil you sold your soul to. He’s coming. He’s coming to collect.
One moment that stands out in the teaser is the shot of Frank being tortured by men in uniform, which confirms what Bernthal told EW at San Diego Comic-Con in July. “I think with Frank and with the world that he’s very much involved in, he’s a soldier, so I think there will be very much a military component of the show,” said Bernthal. “It will be somewhat centered on that… I think that [the] Frank Castle that was in Daredevil is not in Punisher.”
