Mortal Kombat’s movie has found its Sub-Zero in Joe Taslim.
The movie, which is slated for release in 2021, will also see Aquaman’s director, James Wan, serve as producer of the film, and Simon McQuoid serving as director.
The upcoming movie’s script is being penned by Greg Russo, and is executive produced by Lawrence Kasanoff, who’s produced on a number of prior Mortal Kombat franchise entries, including the original 1995 film and the short-lived Mortal Kombat: Conquest television series.
According to THR, Joe Taslim is set to star as Sub-Zero in the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie and is the first actor to get casted. The movie is still in the pre-production phase, with details or the premise of the movie not yet available (but trust us to keep you updated as it develops).
Taslim is best known from his work in Star Trek Beyond and Cinemax’s series Warrior. He’s also an experienced martial artist, who spent 12 years on Indonesia’s national judo team.
