Guardians of the Galaxy: Original Team To Appear In The MCU?
When James Gunn finishes his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, the director could helm a film featuring the original Guardians – if Marvel will allow it. Gunn revealed in an interview that there have been discussions of making a movie with the team, but if it were to happen, it would be called The Ravagers.
Gunn isn’t the only person involved in the Ravagers who’s eager to see the team return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Smallville star Michael Rosenbaum, who played Ravager member Martinex in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, has said that he hopes to be in another MCU project in the future.

In a conversation with Collider, Gunn, who has already directed two Guardians movies, talked about his plans for a third Guardians film and also spoke about a potential spin-off. Gunn revealed that he would be interested in doing more with the original Guardians of the Galaxy (known as the Ravagers in the MCU).
Gunn clarified that the movie wouldn’t be titled Guardians or Guardians 3000, which suggests that Marvel and Gunn would rather Star-Lord’s team remain the MCU’s original Guardians. Instead, the film would be called The Ravagers. Gunn says he would be “excited” to make the film. As for the chances of the movie actually happening, Gunn says “it’s always a possibility.”
