Game of Thrones: 5 Best Valar Morghulis Moments [and 1 We Can’t Wait to See]
If there is one thing you can agree as one who has watched every season of Game of Thrones, it’s that the series has some of the best villains in Television history. So far, fans have been treated to some premium villains who all have the most cunning, sadistic, and unrelentingly evil villains even though they have no superpowers, with some not even having that much power in the series but still managing to do some serious damage with the little they could afford).
So, it’s no surprise when they were killed off because everyone knew they had it coming, many people are even of the opinion that they didn’t suffer enough for the crimes they committed. Below are 5 of the most satisfying Valar Morghulis moments in Game of Thrones so far, and 1 expected death that we can’t wait to see.
***WARNING: HEAVY SPOILERS FROM SEASON 1-7 BELOW***
Walder Frey
Notoriously known for having so many children and very short-lived marriages probably due to the fact that he makes his wives go through child bearing almost every year, with one particular wife of his giving birth to seven children in the space of eleven years. But that isn’t what makes the ex-leader of House Frey’s death so satisfying, it was taking part and initiating the very popular “Red Wedding” episode that saw so many Starks slaughtered.
So when Arya Stark got her revenge using the many-faced god assassination technique, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and cheered the little Stark on.
Ramsey Bolton
Giving credit where it’s due, Ramsey Bolton was definitely one of the most notorious and sadistic villains to ever grace our TV screens. His taste in the rough side of life and sadism and having total dominance made him a threat to not only himself but to everyone around him. Having a hand in mentally breaking the likes of Theon Greyjoy and almost breaking Sansa Stark, Ramsey Bolton definitely had his death, at the hands of the very dogs he starved and only fed when he needed to kill a human, coming.
High Sparrow
Although many wondered how the High Sparrow attained such level of power to make the Queen Mother of Kings Landing walk the streets naked and also imprison the Queen amongst other things, there is no doubt that he made a serious impact in the series even though his time was short-lived. The leader of the religious cult and a deep religious fanatic, as well as his followers, all had their ‘gateway to hell’ death at the hands of a revenge-driven Cersei Lannister, coming. Although the collateral damage of Margery Tyrell was too painful to make the High Sparrow’s death stick.
Tywin Lannister
Although the leader of House Lannister was more or less a stand-up man who played by the rules, his treatment of his son Tyrion, slowly made fans begin to dislike his character, and plotting to kill his own son while also sleeping with the woman Tyrion loved was too much to bear. Tyrion getting his revenge by shooting arrows in his Dad, who was on the toilet at the time, was all to shitty, but satisfying. It was an amazing Valar Morghulis moment.
King Joffrey
Arguably the most hated character in the series, King Joffrey had the whole Westeros, Essos, and watchers of the show against him because of the levels he went to satisfy his sadistic desires. Killing the likes of Ned Stark, torturing Sansa and a seasons-worth of notoriety, many people are still of the opinion that he got off easy by having being poisoned to death. People believe that Joffrey should have gotten more than that, however, it was a satisfying death that everyone was waiting for ever since Ned Stark’s head rolled off his shoulders.
Cersei Lannister
She’s the one character whose death we can’t wait to see in the series! How do you think Cersei will die? Let us know in the comment section below.
