The Marvel Cinematic Universe will come alive in May, when all our favourite heroes will take on the infinity gauntlet-wielding mad titan, Thanos, in Avengers: Infinity War.
In the full cast list published by IMdb, our very own Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele was revealed to be one of the people starring in the most anticipated movie of the year.
She plays a key role also: a member of Black Panther’s ‘Dora Milaje’ – an elite squad of female warriors who protect the king and his kingdom.
Although we have seen Nigerian-born actors play key roles in the MCU like Chiwetel Ejiofor who plays Baron Mordo in Doctor Strange, and Akinwunmi Agbaje who played the beast in Thor: The Dark World, this is the first time that a Nollywood actress will cross to Hollywood and on such a grand stage as the MCU.
We surely can’t wait to see Funke Akindele gear up and take on some of Thanos’ minions.
Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled for release on May 1, 2018.
