8 Steamy Sex Scenes in Nollywood We Found Applaudable

Nigerians seem to be pretentious about sex and nudity, and claim immorality on screens, whereas sex is a major part of our lives and numerous Nigerians have a lot of sex.

Why then should our movies be left out in displaying sex scenes and nudity in its realness under the cloak of such being immoral. Hold on, we aren’t saying movies should become mini porn videos but at least, sex scenes should convey the emotions as well as the actions. There are quite a number of applaudable sex scenes in Nigerian films.

Here’s a list of sex scenes in Nollywood movies that we found applaudable (in no particular order):

  1. Fifty

One of the first scenes of this film is a sex scene between Lizzy (Ireti Doyle) and her toyboy, Sammy (Emmanuel Ikubese). The scene is a very erotic one, with both characters naked in an almost dark room. Loud thrusting is seen and heard and intense moaning follows. Definitely a well-acted sex scene.

  1. Living in Bondage: Breaking Free

The sex scene here gets the crowd aww-ing as it is very passionate and full of love. Nnamdi (Swanky JKA) and his heartthrob, Kelly (Muna Abii) make sweet love with genuine chemistry. A bit of nudity is explored in this scene also as they are both naked on the bed expressing their love while exploring each other’s bodies. It is intense and very believable.

  1. Half of a Yellow Sun

Half of Yellow Sun shows sex scenes between Odenigbo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Amala, Odenigbo and Olanna (Thandie Newton), Richard (Joseph Mawle) and Kainene (Anika Noni Rose), and Olanna and Richard. Each scene conveys the proper emotions that exist between the parties engaged in intercourse. Nudity is also explored.

  1. Alter Ego

This movie surrounds the life of  Ada Igwe (Omotola Jalade), a human and child’s right activist who fights to put sex offenders and child molesters put behind bars. However, Ada is a nymphomaniac as a result of her sexual assault history. Sleeping with everything and everyone, Ada is shown having sex with her driver, her gardener, brother-in-law (Kunle Remi) and love interest (Wale Ojo).

  1. Tiwa’s baggage

Tiwa (Bayray McNwizu) and her sexy neighbour, Lolu (Kunle Remi) fall for each other after he helps her through her pregnancy journey and delivery and is seen one night when she returns home while he’s babysitting the newborn with so much passion and they have sex. The scene is very believable and emotions are well expressed.

  1. Merry Men 1

In the first film of the Merry Men series, we see Amaju (Ayo Makun) in a scene having sex with his sugar mummy (Ireti Doyle). Amaju is also seen in another scene with his new girlfriend (Nancy Isime). Ayo (Ramsey Noah) and his sweetheart, Dera (Damilola Adegbite) are also not left out of the fun. There is also a short scene, which was not visually shown of two bank staff having a quickie when the server of the building goes down.

  1. The Visit

In this hilarious and drama-filled movie, Lanre (Blossom Chukwujekwu) and Ajiri (Nse Ikpe-Etim) are a “crazy” couple with the wildest lifestyle. Being the complete opposites of their neighbours played by Femi Jacobs and Bayray McNwizu, they are a couple with a wild sex drive and are seen having hot and chaotic sex in this film.

  1. Just married

In this film, newlyweds Femi Jacobs and Zynnell Zuh who were married as a result of family arrangement do not like themselves and find it hard to live together. As the months go by, they fall in love and the couple expresses their love after a fight with a very romantic and realistic sex scene. The husband and his side chick (Belinda Effah) also share a scene together.
