Unpopular opinion:I think the tailed beasts in Naruto are/were overhyped. All they had at the end of the day were massive banks of chakra. And the power to level mountains because of their SIZE.
As for techniques, save for the 6-tails who used acid a nd the 8-tails who spun fast to level the field during the war, the only technique all of them used was the tailed-beast bomb… With all the chakra natures they allegedly had at their disposal.
Also they said the 9-tails was the fastest alive (save for Minato and Raikage), but we never saw the 9-tails move fast when Kurama was actually Kurama without being sealed in Naruto.
As for the tailed beasts’ strength level, basically any skilled sharingan/byakugan/rinnegan user could defeat them easily. And if you were skilled enough, you’d be able to defeat them.
For example, the akatsuki. Only Itachi and Nagato (and maybe Kisame) was supposed to have been able to defeat and capture the tailed beasts… But Hidan, Kakuzu, Deidara, and others all defeated the tailed beasts (in their actual form). Heck Gamachiki defeated 1-tails way back in the first chunnin exams.
