Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 was a wonderful way to start the summer movie season, and not only was the movie a huge success, it was an amazing and even more fun experience compared to the first.
As expected, fans have been looking forward to getting a copy of the movie to watch at home after seeing it on the big screen, and now we know when you will be able to get it.
In an official press release, Marvel has announced that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit digital download and 4K Ultra HD on August 8th – with a Blu-ray and DVD release following on August 22nd.
Guardians of the Galaxy will be the first Marvel Studios film to be released in 4K Ultra HD, with this new press released teasing that, “4K Ultra HD provides four times sharper resolution of HD with exceptional HDR which produces brighter brights, deeper blacks and richer colors than ever before.
There will also be an “Ultimate Cinematic Universe Edition” of the film released, with the following bonus materials:
- A collectible poster (while supplies last)
- The 4K Ultra HD version of the film
- Blu-ray and Digital copies of the film
- 80 minutes of never-before-seen bonus material – including special guests, outtakes, deleted scenes, and audio commentary by director James Gunn
I bet you are already jumping for joy thinking about all the cosmic goodness contained in the blu-ray and 4K ultra versions.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be available on Digital HD on August 8th; and Blu-ray/DVD on August 22nd.
